Several years ago I decided to move back to my fine art roots. I’ve experimented with many styles, and explored different schools of media. The method used below, jewel tone painting, begins when I cover a canvas with one of the more vibrant shades; purple, bright pink or orange. Then I over-paint it with the scene I’m trying to replicate. Where the colors meet, sometimes a bit of that jewel tone peeks through, acting as an edge. The effect is quite striking.
